Issued in 2001 as a worldwide edition of just 1,500 pieces, this striking bear is one of Steiff's scarcer UK-exclusive collector's editions.

This example is Limited Edition No. 892 of 1,500 and beautifully showcases Steiff's renowned craftsmanship. Inspired by the company's classic early twentieth-century teddy bears, Schwarzbär features luxurious black mohair, expressive black glass eyes, a hand-stitched nose and mouth, black felt paw pads and traditional five-way jointing.

Filled with traditional excelsior (wood wool) and fitted with an internal growler, this handsome bear embodies the timeless quality and character for which Steiff has been celebrated for over 140 years.

The bear retains its original white limited edition ear tag (Reference 660627) with the iconic gold-plated Button in Ear and is accompanied by its original Certificate of Authenticity.
