Steiff Teddy Girl

This extraordinary Steiff bear, a 1905 replica created in 1997, commemorates the beloved “Teddy Girl,” a cherished companion and historic figure brought to life by Steiff’s skilled artisans. Teddy Girl’s story began in 1904, gifted to a baby boy who grew up to be Colonel Bob Henderson. Together, they shared a lifetime of remarkable adventures, including Henderson’s WWII service. Teddy Girl inspired the creation of the Teddy Bear Club and the UK branch of Good Bears of the World, a charity dedicated to bringing comfort to children in need. In 1994, Teddy Girl became the most valuable teddy bear at the time, sold at a Christie’s auction for an incredible £110,000.

This 1905 replica, crafted in the same classic style as the original 1904 bear, stands 50 cm (19.75”) tall and is fully jointed. She features luxurious, cinnamon red-brown mohair, contrasting wool felt paws, and excelsior stuffing. Her glossy eyes, hand-stitched nose, and concealed double squeaker in her tummy complete this timeless design. To activate her squeaker, lift her arms and gently press her torso from the sides with both hands.

Teddy Girl is part of a Worldwide Limited Edition of just 6,000 pieces. She will arrive boxed, accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
